Bindula Parish

This calls for celebration as the congregation expands it borderes in the ministry, everything gets a little frustration as the flock o sheep that God has bestowed upon us increase by the day.


Partnership :Kirkwall East & Shapinsay

Kirkwall East (also known as the East Kirk) is one of 2 Church of Scotland congregations in the town of Kirkwall and has the 2nd largest membership in Orkney – 347 people. Shapinsay is an island of about 300 people with farming being the main industry. It takes about half an hour by ferry sailing from Kirkwall.

There is a Church building in Shapinsay, there are 39 members and the minister (based in Kirkwall) is Julia Meason (jmeason@churchofscotland.org.uk). Julia is originally from Poland but she has lived in Orkney for some years now. Her husband is the current Presbytery moderator (Kenny Meason) who is from the island of Shapinsay.
